Some sunshine and some clouds today, with temps in the 80’s! Praying that you are experiencing God’s goodness on this last Tuesday in April!
In Romans 13, Paul wants us to gain an understanding of the present time so that we might love one another. The “present time” that he’s referring to is the fast-approaching day of Christ’s return. If we put life in the Eternal perspective, it provides us with a very clear picture of what God wants us to be about in a culture that is deteriorating. “Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” (v. 9b-10) How do we love our neighbors? For some that might mean showing Christ through our actions as we help them with projects, make them a meal, or watch their kids for them. For others that might mean sharing Christ with them verbally so they hear the Gospel clearly and have a chance to respond to it. As we greatly look forward to Christ’s return we must clearly keep in mind our responsibility prior to that occurrence. Are we being as diligent as we can be in showing and sharing the Truth with those around us? A rather sobering question but one that has Eternal significance.
We lost a wonderful, faithful, and loving friend last month in Kathy Weagant. She was a tremendous servant of the Lord who loved Him and pointed others to Him through the many aspects of her life. She served in so many ways at Camp Peniel throughout her 65 years here and her Savior has now welcomed her home. While she is missed by all of us here, there is no better place for her to be! Kathy’s Celebration of Life service will be held at camp, in the Lodge, on May 17th at 2:00 PM. Thank you Lord so much for Kathy!
We had great Mother & Daughter and Father & Son retreats this month!
“God really provided some great moments for my daughter and I to spend together at camp. Know that camp’s mission was met this weekend, thank you!” -Mother/Daughter Camper
“Thank you for all that you do to provide an incredible weekend for my son and I! We had such a great time that I signed him up to come this summer!” -Father/Son Camper
Summer camp is just over a month away and getting closer! Registering your camper for Resident, Day, Adventure and/or Saddle Camp provides an opportunity for Eternal value as they experience the Lord in exciting ways! God changes lives at camp for a lifetime and we’d love to see that happen for them as we are Rescued (John 3:17) from death to life by Him this summer! Head to the website to register!
