Get ready
for the Adventure!
Camp Peniel was founded in 1946 for the sole purpose of reaching today’s youth for Jesus Christ.
We operate as a non-denominational ministry. We believe that every week of camp should be a life changing experience because of the extreme fun experienced and the rock solid Bible training received. Our mission is to challenge every camper to strengthen their personal relationship with Christ while experiencing Adventure With A Purpose!
Bringing people to a “face-to-face” relationship with God through Christ-centered adventures
Through His grace, [my daughter] had the opportunity to grow in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ. She was able to experience branching out on her own a bit more and exercise the maturity that comes with growing in Christ. By the end of camp, she was invigorated with new zeal for the Lord. This wasn’t something new. This has always been our family’s experience at Camp Peniel going back for decades.”

The boys crushed it at archery today! Focused, competitive, and having a blast at camp. 🏹
High School Week starts June 28, and there`s still time to be part of it! 🔥

Wednesday was an amazing day at camp. Grateful for the moments, the memories, and everything happening here this week.
There’s just something about horses and camp. 🐴
Whether it`s a camper`s first ride or their favorite activity of the week, the barn is always a place where confidence grows, friendships form, and memories are made.
Some friendships only last a season. Camp friendships last a lifetime.
When that person from Work Crew is a certified yapper, and we still need to finish washing the dishes.
Watching boys grow in their faith is one of the greatest parts of camp.
From asking big questions to opening God`s Word and taking steps closer to Jesus, we`re seeing lives changed one day at a time.
This organization taught me the power of serving others and the absolute joy in embracing life change in the campers and staffers you meet. Your children will come home different. You will love the mindsets fostered and the skillsets taught.
Your students will thank you for letting them find community, push their mental limitations, and finding joy in a personal relationship with Jesus.
Don’t wait, sign up for a weekend camp or a weeklong summer camp.
As parents, though, we really hoped for a bit more transparency. The website mentioned daily updated photos, but we didn’t see anything until we reached out directly. After we asked, photos were added to the family portal, which we appreciated, but it would’ve meant a lot to have that kind of check-in automatically, especially when communication with your camper isn’t allowed. A simple photo or one-way message system would go a long way to reassure parents without disrupting the camp experience. So -.5 stars for me here because this could use some improvement.
I also want to address the food situation because, to be honest, I was worried. I’d read some pretty negative reviews about portion sizes and no second helpings. But my son, who is not a picky eater and can put away food like a grown adult, had a completely different take. And I quote:
“The food was fire. And there were boy chefs and they cooked really good—like, no offense Mom and Dad, but better than home.”
Yeah… that stung a little. But it also made me genuinely happy. He loves cooking and BBQ and has even competed in junior chef competitions, so when he says the food was amazing, he means it. I don’t know what some of the other reviews were talking about—he said the food was delicious, filling, and there was plenty to go around. So +.5 stars for me because that’s amazing to hear.
Overall, we’re grateful for the experience and the memories it gave our son. With a few updates in parent communication and consistency with photo uploads, this camp could easily go from great to outstanding.
This camp means so much to my husband. His family and family-friends have been coming here for 3 generations. He knows everyone and took me on a tour of the property.
The land itself is an incredible place to be explored. We explored to see the changes made over the years. There’s always improvements being made. There’s a suspension bridge at the far end of the lake now! My husband’s eagle scout project (2-slip wooden canoe dock) is still looking good and has some new boards. The facilities that have been here are stil looking great. The gym is enormous and it’s bathrooms have A/C. The dining hall has neat decor. Two wagon whee chandeliers, a wooden canoe hanging from the ceiling, and an enormous hearth. The pavilion where they hold church on Sundays also serves other purposes during the week.
I enjoyed identifying plants/trees around the lake’s number-marked trail. Definitely be prepared for the heat! Summer here is always baking hot and I always sunburn! Bring a hat, a thermos filed with ice, and a long-sleeve, moisture-wicking shirt. Still wouldn’t miss a chance to be here!
And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:
