COVID-19  Update

Dear Camp Peniel Family,

Greetings from Camp Peniel!   It continues to be a unique time for our families, communities, country and world as we seek healing, wisdom, and encouragement from the One & Only God but also praise Him amidst the pandemic and pandemonium. Please know that we are praying for healing/recovery for those affected by the coronavirus, wisdom for our leaders as they make decisions, protection for all of us, and resting in the hope we have in knowing that God has us in His Hand…no matter what!

Like you, Camp Peniel has been and is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely.  We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our campers, guests and team members.  We want campers of all ages to feel confident and comfortable when visiting Camp Peniel.  Standing on this commitment, as we have determined to follow the shared guidelines, we have canceled our remaining spring weekends and after-school program, Bridles & Bibles.  As we look towards the summer months, we are taking a wait-and-see approach regarding summer camp.  Currently we are planning for and desiring to proceed with holding camp this summer as usual.  This means that our normal cancellation policies will remain in effect.  We also realize that this situation is very fluid and our plans and desires may have to be modified as we move forward.  We will be making decisions regarding summer camp no later than the end of April.  We feel that this timeline allows us the ability to have the latest information from the experts on the status of the virus and use the most current guidelines to do our level best to determine the landscape of the upcoming 3-5 month period which includes our summer camp season.  At that time, if modifications are made, we will provide you with the options that are available and be able to answer questions.

We have reason to be thankful even amidst these turbulent waters where we are trying to find sure footing.  We have the One True Rock where we can find that footing and these are the times we must practice the discipline of clinging to and trusting in His promises and sharing with others, “Behold, the Savior of the world Who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29b  Again, please know that you have been and will continue to be prayed for during this difficult time.

Current proactive action steps that we are taking:

  • We are praying for healing/recovery for those affected by the coronavirus, wisdom for our leaders as they make decisions, protection for all of us, and resting in the hope we have in knowing that God has us in His Hand…no matter what!
  • We will continue to diligently monitor information that is shared regarding COVID-19 to be sure we have the latest updates and modify our approach should the needs change
  • We are continuing our practice of making sure that facilities are cleaned with excellence i.e. thoroughly cleaning each lodging/meeting area, hand soap and/or hand sanitizer present throughout camp, cleaning surfaces frequently in high traffic areas…
  • We are asking staff members who are not feeling well to remain at home until they are healthy.

Our goal is to be proactive and provide an environment that is clean and ready for campers of all ages to come while making appropriate decisions with regards to the programs that we offer. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.  Stay healthy and we look forward to seeing you at camp soon!

If we can pray for you and your family, please email your prayer request to Brian Anderson.
