Josh
Morris’s background with horses
and kids began while he was growing up at Judson Baptist
Retreat Center in Jackson, LA, where he worked as a wrangler
from the age of nine until he was 18. He participated in
rodeo competitions throughout high school and also worked
six months breaking cutting horses in Tyler, TX. Josh is a
Christian Camping Horsemanship Incorporated (CCHI) Level 2
certified horseback riding instructor. He earned his
bachelor’s degree in Animal, Dairy, and Poultry Science from
Louisiana State University, where he met his wife and
assistant equestrian director, Tara. Josh felt called to the
ministry of horses and Christian camping while in college
and feels that the Lord truly works when horses and kids get
together.
Tara Morris
grew up in Ruston, LA and earned her bachelor’s degree in
Agriculture Science at Southern Arkansas University in
Magnolia, AR, where she also worked on the university’s
educational farm. She then graduated with her master’s
degree in Animal and Dairy Science and a minor in Journalism
at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Tara has
worked as a nature program director and as a horseback
riding instructor for Girl Scout camps in Arkansas.
Our equestrian
directors love to help others see what being with horses can
teach us about the Lord, and also enjoy seeing people grow
in confidence as they deal with horses. Take an opportunity
to meet them! |
