Camp
Peniel offers many exciting challenges for summer
employees. Below you will find general information for
potential counselors who are interested in spending a
rewarding summer with us as a Counselor in the hill
country of Texas. You'll never be the same! |

We
are looking for young men and women who desire
to serve the Lord by being a friend and mentor
to hundreds of children this summer. Join us in
for an exciting summer that will make a
difference in the life of a child for eternity!

Staff training is required
May 26 - June 7
During
non-counseling weeks counselors will have daily Bible study and prayer sessions,
work assignments, training sessions, program activities to lead or direct, and reports and letters to write as well as some time off

Resident Camp

9 one-week sessions

Alternating girls' and boys' weeks
(ages 9-14)

1 week high school camp

Ratio 7 to 9 campers per counselor

to lead a camper to salvation
through faith in Jesus Christ.

Vibrant
faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
Strong daily walk as a growing Christian in faith, in commitment and in practice of thoughts, values, words, actions, and relationships.

Strong
love and devotion for kids
-
excited about living, playing and talking with them. Good understanding of the Scriptures and their practical application to life.
-
Sensitivity and
ability in listening, communicating and encouraging with a positive
approach.
-
Genuine love
and enjoyment of outdoors, camp
life and activities, with adequate ability to lead
or teach camp skills and activities. Sincere agreement with Camp's beliefs, standards and policies.

Good health
physically, able
to go hard all day for 10 weeks running around with
campers, up and down rocky hills in the Texas heat
(sometimes over 100 degrees F).
-
Good health emotionally, able
to get along well with all staff and campers,
keeping a positive, friendly, and enthusiastic
attitude.
-
Must have medical coverage and be able to provide proof of insurance.
-
Care for the health, safety, and spiritual welfare of all campers in your cabin group at all times.
-
Participate with campers in all activities.
-
Teach two activity classes each morning and participate in Bible class, as assigned.
-
Lead your own cabin or tribe activities as scheduled.
-
Conduct cabin devotions each night with
your campers.
-
Pray daily for each camper.
-
Be present and on time for all counselor meetings and prayer meetings.
-
Perform any other tasks requested by the program or camp director.
-
Obey
all rules and policies of the camp and supervise campers' adherence.
-
Complete camper evaluations and other required reports promptly and completely.
-
Write each camper the week following the camp session he or she attended.
-
